Chase and Car are inseperable, together making up Ghostface. While Carpenter instigated the killings, Chase is the one who actually plans them, and is the only reason they haven't gotten caught yet. Car gets too sloppy when he kills, far too interested in his own pleasure, than making sure no one else sees him. The murders were started by Carpenter, after getting bored with just stalking. No one was giving him what he needed from the local kink scene, and while it wasn't the position he wanted to be in, murdering was certainly closer to what he wanted. He stared stalking Chase after spotting him at a club, and was initally planning on either killing or kidnapping him, but when Chase found him mid-murder, Car thought better of it. Expecting Chase to be horrified, he was more than pleasently surprised when it told him it wanted to join in, pulling out a blade of it's own and smiling. When they finish that first kill together, Chase tells him he's going to eat it out, and Car has never in his life been happier or more turned on. 

They slot perfectly into sadist/masochist, dom/sub, top/bottom, director/snuffstar. Begining murdering together before they start actually dating. Killing and filming their murders both as fun mementos and as sex tapes, due to the fact they fuck either on top of or beside their victims in each one. It doesn't take long at all for Chase to carve his name into Car's stomach, nor to start piercing him as he sees fit.
